a season of slow.
I’m just going to be honest: I’m exhausted with being human.
The daily grind, the constant doing, the endless process of it all… it’s not how I want to spend my time. I’m pretty much over all of it. The appointments, the emails, the classes, the cooking, the driving, and the opinions of others.
So, this season, I’m only welcoming the slow.
Slow morning coffee. Slow practices on and off my mat. Dancing instead of sitting in traffic. Filling up my gas tank because I’m headed on an impromptu road trip while canceling that meeting.
I created a vision board at my retreat and hung it right in front of my bed so I can stare at it every morning. It’s filled with lounging, flowers, good coffee, lots of water, cute streets to stroll down, and mermaids. A few quotes made their way onto the board, too: “Create before you scroll.” “Staying rested.” “Never felt so good in this body.” And my favorite: “Slow.” I even left a few spaces where I can write down ideas and thoughts as I live out this vision, rather than simply stare at it and hope it happens.
Mercury is heading into retrograde again, which feels like the perfect reminder to be mindful of what you say, what you start, and what you tell yourself. And honestly? I think it’s the perfect time to slow the fuck down.
I don’t care if I don’t create anything new, gain another follower, or sell another session. Right now, I’m minding me.
She needs rest. Not just physical rest, but the kind that allows her to hear herself again. The kind that gives her space to tell the universe her stories without feeling the need to rush straight back to work.
I get it. We all have responsibilities. But who said I wanted to keep carrying all of mine in the same way? Who said everything needed to happen right now? And who decided that being productive was more important than being present?
So, I want to ask you something:
When was the last time you put down everything you weren’t interested in carrying anymore and simply rested?
Not checking your phone. Not watching the clock. Not panicking because you weren’t producing something. Not thinking about what you should be doing next.
Just being.
Come on, join me. Let’s welcome the season of slow. 🌷
